creative wedding portraits of bride and groom at their elegant destination wedding in bend oregon

Elegant Wedding with Mountain Views

This elegant wedding with mountain views of the cascade mountain range was held in Sisters, Oregon. Sisters Oregon is a little tinnnny adorable town about half an hour from Bend Oregon. I had the incredible experience of second shooting this wedding for Max Tepper . He is a talented wedding photographer based in California. If you’re not familiar with the term, second shooting is the service of assisting the main photographer. The main focus of a second photographer is to capture behind the scenes, take charge of the groomsmen morning-of, and generally be a fly on the wall for all details of the day. This is just a snippet of what I photographed but its tough to condense it down for a blog post!

As a second photographer, I started the day with the groomsmen. I love how these guys kept it so classy with their cigars, Frank Sinatra, and overall air of relaxed masculinity. Men being men at their finest.

I popped in breifly to say hi to the Bride and her girlies, LOVE the matching sock moment ahh so fun!

The details of this wedding day were immaculate. The gold silverware, to the blue & white florals and blue linen are justtt *chefs kiss*. Each place was set so elegantly and very tasteful. Each table name is a Mountain and you can see here, Mt Bachelor which is practically next door. There are 7(!!) homemade cakes here made by the mother of the bride! My jaw was on the floor when I found that out. How thoughtful to hand make each and every one.

These name cards are a really fun and creative way to help the guests find their seat! As a wedding photographer, I love seeing all the creative and elegant ways brides find to elevate their wedding day.

As a destination wedding I find my favorite time of the day is the couple’s portraits. I really get to lean into my creativity and find new epic ways to capture the bride and groom. This is also true when it comes to second shooting. Although with second shooting I am more a fly on the wall and not directing any of the ideas, shots, or poses. It makes it even more of a fun challenge to still come away with unique shots that aren’t cookie cutter or boring. (which as you must know by now is all my brand, I hate boring wedding photos babe.) All of these shots are taken from a different perspective than the main wedding photographer, at posing intervals, or simply during transit from one location to the next. Thats part of the beauty of being a wedding photographer, seeing what nobody else notices.

I adore these office closet shots, and envision these as stills from a romance movie. But in the movie its an elevator not a closet.

The ceremony is another one of the moments of the day when the second shooter moves around and tries to be everywhere the main wedding photographer is not. I didn’t have room to include all the candid shots but you can see the elegance of the affair. The Cascade mountain range came to play just in time!!

Concluding this elegant wedding day with some moments from the cocktail and reception. Pizza trucks, charcuterie, Tacos, and a live band. I LOVE live bands when I’m photographing a wedding! Also yes pizza is the perfect meal after a long day of being on your feet. ;))
