A rainy picnic engagement shoot in Bend Oregon— What could be more romantic? October in Bend is usually a mix of sun, rain, smoke, and autumn color. I planned this photoshoot before the autumn colors specifically hoping we would get some rain. The weather can be such poetry, don’t you think? (currently listening to sad piano music while writing this, i’m a romantic ok??)

As a destination wedding photographer, I love my home town. Don’t get me wrong, I live for traveling. But there is such splendor in familiarity. Bend Oregon engagement shoots bring me such joy. Which is why I planned this engagement photoshoot. I wanted to capture the quiet feeling of being in love at a park. Drake park was the perfect location to do this photoshoot at.
I’ve been a photographer in Bend Oregon for over 5 years now, and this park truly just holds a special magic. Each time I come back here for an engagement shoot or other photoshoot, I’m reminded of what a spectacular town I live and work in.
If you’re recently engaged and thinking of ideas for your own engagement shoot in Bend Oregon, heres your permission slip to think outside the box. It doesn’t have to be you in a field at golden hour (although theres nothing wrong with that babe!). You can and should do an engagement photoshoot that feels like *YOU*. This could be anything that truly makes you feel like yourself. Incorporate hobbies, activities, dress code, or location that make you feel at home. If you need help coming up with inspiration or ideas, ask your local photographer! (me, ask me hehe)
As a Bend Oregon photographer, I strive to make my engagement shoots feel easy. I tell my couples “its just an hour of us goofing around” and I really think its just supposed to be fun! When you’re comfortable you’ll be yourself, and thats where the magic happens.
