This Oregon Destination wedding at Black Butte Ranch was so fresh and colorful. Immaculate floral vibes all day from Bend Bouquets . Black Butte Ranch is a popular destination wedding venue in Oregon because of its superior mountain views of the cascade mountain range. Unfortunately this wedding day arrived with Central Oregon blanketed in a thick cozy layer of smoke from the recent wildfires. While it completely erased the typical mountain views, it did add a delicious element of hazy romance. This is something you have to be prepared for when planning a destination wedding in Oregon during wildfire season. Wildfire season is usually spring through autumn with the most prominent smoke usually being July-September.
My favorite part of wedding days is the private bridal portraits, and this wedding was no exception. They opted out of a first look, so all of the bridal portraits were scheduled after the ceremony. Because the smoke was so thick on their wedding day it did end up becoming darker quite earlier than expected and we didn’t the typical ‘golden hour’ but the soft haze was an okay substitute *heart eyess* ! Black Butte Ranch does have cute little canoes that would be so adorable for a few photos, so keep that in mind for your wedding if you’re getting married there!
The dance floor on this wedding was so alive and even though I was only there for a few songs, I can tell everyone was having the best fcking time. (I WISH I HAD THE VIDEOS FROM THE VIDEOGRAPHERR) I’m sure some of the guests left with a little more alcohol on their clothes than they planned on but its all in the name of celebrating the bride and groom right?! Right!
I had so much fun capturing this wedding with Pacific Light Photography. It’s not often I get to associate shoot but when I do they make it so easy.
