Why Choose Skyliner Lodge for Your Bend, Oregon Wedding?

Skyliner Lodge wedding venue is a hidden gem that perfectly blends rustic charm with natural beauty. Located just 17 minutes from downtown Bend, this venue provides a peaceful retreat while still being easily accessible for guests. The lodge features a cozy, cabin-style interior, a spacious outdoor area surrounded by towering pines, and access to scenic trails near Tumalo Falls—ideal for stunning waterfall wedding portraits.

Getting Ready in the Cabin & A First Look

The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement as the couple got ready in the cozy cabin at Skyliner Lodge. The bride and her bridesmaids did their hair and makeup together in one room, while the groom and his groomsmen prepared in another part of the lodge. The warm wooden interiors make you feel like you are inside of a storybook.

Once they were both ready, the couple had their first look just outside the cabin. The groom stood in anticipation as the bride stepped out, framed by the towering pines. When he turned around, his face lit up with emotion—one of the most beautiful moments of the day. The first look was filled with love and joy, setting the perfect tone for the rest of the wedding.

After the first look, we headed just a few minutes down the road to Tumalo Falls for some epic waterfall bridal portraits. Tumalo Falls is historically quite busy and this wedding day was no exception. Bend, Oregon has become quite the tourist attraction so plan to share the space with a lot of visitors.

The Bride and Groom wanted share their vows privately before the ceremony, so we found a quite spot next to the creek and they did just that while I photographed at a respectful distance so as not to interfere or overhear their intimate vows.

The drive from the wedding venue at Skyliner Lodge to the parking area at Tumalo falls was only about 10 minutes, with another 10 minutes of walking to the underneath side of the waterfall for portraits. The creek area is just adjacent to the parking lot as well. When you get married at Skyliner Lodge you have tons of options for photo backdrops!

Wedding Ceremony at Skyliner Lodge in Bend Oregon

The couple I photographed chose Skyliner Lodge for its relaxed, intimate outdoorsy atmosphere. The ceremony took place outdoors, with the tall evergreens framing the couple as they exchanged vows. The sunlight filtering through the trees created a breathtaking scene, making my job as a Bend, Oregon wedding photographer an absolute dream.

Change of venue

After the ceremony and some group photos we headed to Sunriver, and spent the rest of the wedding reception at the Fold Kitchen.

The night was well celebrated with deserts, toasts, live music, a photobooth, and dancing. Another fantastic day on the job as a Bend Oregon wedding photographer.
