Mt Pisgah Arboretum Wedding in Oregon

Mt Pisgah Arboretum Wedding in Oregon.

A gorgeous summer wedding under the tree canopy at Mt Pisgah Arboretum in Eugene Oregon. I photographed E + H’s engagement over here in Bend, you can see their engagement photos here.

This was my first time photographing a wedding at Mt Pisgah Arboretum and it was so beautiful! The property is full with large old growth trees and fields of grass in the back. A spacious lawn area is the perfect outdoor ceremony spot with great backlighting in the later summer afternoon. In the building it is pretty bare bones without a lot of personality, so you can decorate and design it to fit your wedding vibe.

{one tiny thing I would note for future couples looking at this venue for their wedding, there are tons of yellow jackets. It seems the venue has put a few traps outside but still it was super noticeable especially with the food brought out. To my knowledge nobody was stung, but it is something to ask the venue about for your date.}

Since they were all getting ready for the day off-site, the Bride and Groom opted for photos to start at the wedding venue with the first look. They have the brightest personalities and you can see how joyful they are through these photos—

It is SO hard to choose which photos to narrow it down to fit these blog posts because the entire wedding day was so stunning with so many beautiful moments captured. {What a good problem to have}

For the group photos the Bride and Groom specifically said they were down for ANYTHING and just wanted it to be fun, easy, and quick. This group was so silly we were pretty much laughing the entire time.

The Bride sent me her wedding pinterest board and the overall vibe was carefree + romantic. She nailed it. The mismatched bridesmaids dresses are my favorite. Each bridesmaid can pick a dress that flatters her and she can rewear to something else.

Reception —

Every detail at this Mt Pisgah Arboretum Wedding in Oregon was complimented so well by the existing venue features. The large reception space with wooden ceiling beams and open doors made for comfortable mingling of wedding guests. Huge trees offered shade and a gentle breeze in the summer heat.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the Bride went to freshen up and actually had planned to surprise everyone with complete chop. Her hair stylist was of course in on this and worked his swift magic to make the change in a matter of minutes.

We of COURSE had to sneak away for 10 minutes to capture some of this yummy golden light before sunset. As a wedding photographer, this mightttt be one of my favorite parts of the day to photograph.

A bubble machine was ABSOLUTELY the right move. Non stop bubbles, gorgeous photos, and practically zero mess. Let this be your inspiration for your wedding send off if you want something that is incredibly easy and photographs well.
