Destination Oregon Crater Lake Elopement

A Destination Oregon Crater lake elopement with editorial inspired feeling. A + A reached out to me all the way from Florida, and we hit it off right away. Their vision for the elopement day was simple: something beautiful in a location they had never been before.

Planning a destination Oregon Crater Lake elopement when you live in Florida is no small task, so I of course offered to help in any way I could. I’ve photographed several times at Crater Lake in Oregon and love doing the backend research to make sure an elopement day is everything my bride wants.

We started their elopement day off with a quick meetup at Watchman overlook. Since there is little to no cell service at Crater Lake, we made sure our meet up plan & location was on point.

From there, we hiked up to Watchman Tower for even more views of Crater Lake. You don’t find views like this at every elopement location! Of course, it is Oregon and it being in August we did have a huge wall of wildfire smoke just blanketing the sky.

Next on the stop was Crater Lake Lodge. A + A stayed here for a few days and wanted to make sure to document how beautiful it is. (Its giving swiss alps to me)

Absolutely love a unique staircase moment for the Bride & Groom <3

After taking some time at the lodge to enjoy its unique beauty, we headed to a trailhead to try and catch some woodland meadow spaces. Castle Crest Loop is where these photos are taken!

I’m genuinely so so excited by trails surrounded by large trees, it is so so whimsical.

From Castle Crest Loop, we drove counter clockwise around to the entire other side of the lake to Cloud Cap Overlook for sunset. We did not plan on there being so much road construction!! But as with any well thought out wedding timeline, we still made it to the sunset spot perfectly on time despite the massive detour.

Here at this gorgeous Crate Lake lookout view point, the Bride + Groom were joined by a few close members to say their vows and officially get married.

The sunset was subtle at first but then covered the entire sky in the most ethereal pink I’ve ever seen. It was so unbelievable it honestly looks fake?? but thats Oregon sunsets for you!
