This fall wedding at Lake Creek Lodge in Oregon was so fun to photograph. Eclectic, laid back, romantic, and outdoorsy with some gorgeous design choices. If your dream wedding is set in the woods with the sweet smells of Ponderosa Pine and a creek shrouded in pungent foliage, this is your venue.
Lake Creek Lodge is in Oregon about 50 minutes from the city of Bend, Oregon. Cozied up in the Deschutes National Forest, it is the perfect wedding venue for the bride who wants old growth trees and whimsical creeks in their gallery.
Weddings at Lake Creek Lodge have that nostalgic summer camp feel, while bringing an elevated vibe to your forest event. If you’re like C + G, you might choose to have your closest friends come the night before for your welcome dinner and spend the weekend on the property at one of the numerous adorable cabins.
Choosing to have a welcome dinner is not an option for every wedding, but Lake Creek Lodge makes it so easy with their options to host. Bringing in Swig & Stone could not have been more perfect. Hosting a welcome dinner is such a fantastic opportunity to catch up with your friends and family you may not have seen in a long time, while still keeping the wedding day priorities in check with your timeline. What better way to greet all your loved ones than the night before your wedding over some drinks and pizza?
The wedding morning was very laid back, just the Bride getting ready with her best gals in the most cozy cabin. These cabins are just the cutest things you’ve ever stepped foot in. Directly out of a fairytale storybook. & the warm wood tones are everythinggg.
C + G chose to have their first look on the forest path that runs between the cabins. G accompanied by their dog Titan.
G + C chose to walk into their ceremony together, where all their favorite people were standing. Someone sang and played guitar and harmonic as they approached the ceremony backdrop of orange flowers hanging from the Ponderosa Pines.
Something I haven’t seen at a wedding ceremony very often that they did, was have a minute to ask all the guests to greet each-other and introduce yourself to someone you don’t know. This was such a bright moment and everyone was laughing. I think this worked especially well since there were new chairs or rows. Just people gathered standing in a group.
They also had two very close people officiate their wedding as a unit. It was evident how special the bond they shared with the couple was during the VERY teary ceremony.
Straight from the ceremony we headed back to G’s cabin to sign the license and make things official. This was also the perfect time for them to have a moment alone before meeting the rest of the group for the night.
Weddings at Lake Creek Lodge in Oregon have a cleared lawn in the trees to setup the reception area however you desire for your day. Depending on what time of year you get married at Lake Creek Lodge, you may put up a tent like G + C did here in September.
The cups were for each guest to take home, such a fun favor idea and low waste. The Bride also planted, grew, and arranged all the florals for the wedding reception tablescapes.
The Bride and Groom didn’t want to take very much time away from their guests, so we opted for a quick 10 minutes during the early sunset before the light was lost to the trees. Something to think about if you are getting married at Lake Creek Lodge in Oregon, the treeline is quite significant and will eat up the light much earlier than if you were out on an open horizon. Plan your sunset photos accordingly. Your wedding photographer and planner should be helping you with this!
